Hannibal has gone 9-1 against Fulton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will welcome the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Hannibal will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Hannibal is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since October 12, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Quincy.
Hannibal was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12.
Meanwhile, Fulton came up short against Southern Boone on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
While Fulton ultimately came up short, they really made Southern Boone work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 26-24.
Hannibal will have to keep a close watch on Bre Knighten and Estella Vanschenkhof, a pair of players who had a big impact on Fulton's prior game. Knighten had 20 digs, 16 kills, four aces, and one block, while Vanschenkhof had seven digs and six aces. Knighten has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 20 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tatum Dailey, who had 23 digs and two assists.
Hannibal's victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1. As for Fulton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Hannibal took their win against Fulton when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
