Basketball Game Preview: Questa Wildcats vs. McCurdy Bobcats

Questa has gone a perfect 10-0 against McCurdy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Saturday, Questa didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Penasco, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win.

It was another big night for Alyse Lovato, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 19 games she's played. Kamryn Cardenas was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Questa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, McCurdy hadn't done well against Penasco recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. McCurdy came out on top against Penasco by a score of 44-37. The team accrued 33 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

McCurdy pushed their record up to 18-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Questa, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.

Questa didn't have too much breathing room in their game against McCurdy in their previous matchup last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win. Will Questa repeat their success, or does McCurdy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
