Ponaganset won the last time they faced Mt. Hope and things went their way on Friday too. The Chieftains won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Huskies 14-13. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chieftains.
Mt. Hope's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Martin, who threw for 137 yards and one TD on only ten passes. Tyler Rhynard also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Ponaganset's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mt. Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
