Independence's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rosa Fort Lions a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Miller Owens made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, DJ Mitchell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Austin Eddie also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Independence has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Rosa Fort, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat the Lions by a score of 15-0 later that day.
