After a string of seven wins, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Norfolk Christian by a decisive 22-38 margin. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy are ranked 90th in the MaxPreps state rankings (156 spots ahead of Norfolk Christian), so the defeat was all the more frustrating.
With their first loss of the season, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy fell to 7-1. The win got Norfolk Christian back to even at 3-3.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Next week Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will take on Fredericksburg Christian at 2:00 PM. As for Norfolk Christian, they will go up against Christchurch School. Norfolk Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Christchurch School will be stumbling in from a defeat.
