Perry Central is 2-7 against Orleans since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Perry Central Commodores will be playing at home against the Orleans Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Perry Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Orleans is ranked 85th).
Last Saturday, Perry Central lost to Shoals on the road by a decisive 50-35 margin. That's two games in a row now that Perry Central has lost by exactly 15 points.
Meanwhile, Orleans put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-23 win over Lanesville on the road. Winning may never get old, but Orleans sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Orleans' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Alston, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Alston hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Crocker, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Perry Central and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Orleans, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Perry Central might still be hurting after the 45-21 loss they got from Orleans in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Perry Central was down 32-11.
