Tri-Valley is a perfect 10-0 against West Muskingum since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Scotties will face off against the Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. Tri-Valley will be strutting in after a win while West Muskingum will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Tri-Valley got the win against The Linsly School by a conclusive 9-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scotties.
Brady Kaufman was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Blayne Riley, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, West Muskingum came up short against Logan on Wednesday and fell 11-8.
Sam Wiseman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Wes Houston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those home runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Ansel, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
West Muskingum's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Tri-Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Tri-Valley took their win against West Muskingum in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scotties since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
