Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Antonito struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sierra Grande posted 11 assists.
Sierra Grande's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylyn Quezada, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Quezada has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Alexia Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Antonito dropped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for Sierra Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antonito on the road again on Friday and play against Liberty Tree Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Sierra Grande, Sierra Grande and Moffat will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
