Baseball Game Preview: Gloucester County Tech vs. Delsea Crusaders

Gloucester County Tech is 0-6 against Delsea since May of 2016 but things could change on Friday. Gloucester County Tech is taking a road trip to challenge Delsea at 4:00 p.m. Delsea took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Gloucester County Tech, who comes in off a win.

Gloucester County Tech was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Timber Creek Regional, sneaking past 2-1.

Zack Hahn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Gloucester County Tech is 6-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Gloucester County Tech's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ozzy Foy, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Delsea was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Triton by a score of 1-0.

Delsea's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Gloucester County Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Gloucester County Tech has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Delsea struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
