The O'Connor Panthers won the last time they faced the Hutto Hippos, and things went their way on Friday too. O'Connor came out on top against Hutto by a score of 49-41. Given O'Connor's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Hutto is ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Julian Barron, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Bledsoe, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
O'Connor's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Hutto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
O'Connor is on the road again on Saturday and play against West Brook at 9:00 a.m. on December 9th. West Brook has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three games. Hutto will be home for the holidays to greet Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
