The DeKalb Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Stewartsville Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses dating back to last season for DeKalb and four for Stewartsville.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-12, which was the final score in DeKalb's tilt against West Nodaway on Friday. While losing is never fun, DeKalb can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while West Nodaway is ranked tenth).
DeKalb's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hayden Black, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Devin Hall who threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-12, which was the final score in Stewartsville's tilt against Mound City on Friday.
DeKalb's loss was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Stewartsville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
DeKalb was dealt a bruising 60-30 loss at the hands of Stewartsville in their previous meeting back in September. Can DeKalb avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
