By week's end, the remaining state championships that have yet to be played will be completed.
In New York State, the competition is especially intriguing.
The Class A race features two Top 10 teams in the MaxPreps Xcellent 20 National Girls Lacrosse Rankings in No. 4 West Genesee and No. 9 Northport.
West Genesee, the Section 3 champion, faces Section 5's Pittsford in the semifinals on Friday at Cortland State.
Northport, the Section 11 titlist, takes on Section 1's Lakeland-Panas in its semifinal. In Class B, the nation's top-ranked team in the Xcellent 20, Garden City, meets Yorktown in the semifinals earlier in the day at Cortland.
In the other Class B semifinal, Section 3's Oswego takes on Section 5's Brighton.
The Class C Final Four, meanwhile, looks wide open.
Christian Brothers Academy-Syracuse (Section 3) and Marcus Whitman (Section 5) meet in one semifinal and Pearl River (Section 1) and Mount Sinai (Section 11) in the other.
The state championship games are also at Cortland State, on Saturday.
Connecticut state champions will be awarded in divisions L, M and S the same day at Bunnell High School in Stratford, Conn. Winners of the quarterfinal-round games on Monday play on Wednesday in the semis.
Newtown (15-2) is the top seed in Division L. Wilton, No. 18 in the Xcellent 20, is the No. 1 seed in Division M. Haddam-Killingworth is Division S's top seed.
In New Jersey, Ridgewood, which checks in at No. 9 in the Xcellent 20, is the No. 2 seed in the Tournament of Champions and faces third-seeded Chatham in the semifinals on Tuesday at Monmouth University. Top-seeded Moorestown, which is No. 16 in the Xcellent 20, takes on fourth-seeded Glen Ridge in the other semifinal.
The TOC title game is set for Saturday at Rutgers University.

2. McDonogh (Owings Mills, Md.), 19-0: Taylor Cummings scored five goals, helping the Eagles prevail over Roland Country School (Md.) 18-17 in the IAA A Conference title game for their 51st straight win. (Last week's ranking: No. 2)
3. Vero Beach (Fla.), 22-0: The Fighting Indians wrapped up a 22-0 campaign by beating Winter Springs, 20-3, in the FHSAA championship game to extend their winning streak to 60 games. (Last week's ranking: No. 4)
4. West Genesee (Camillus, N.Y.), 19-0: Katey Hart has 56 goals and an even 100 points for the Wildcats. (Last week's ranking: No. 5)
5. St. Anthony's (Melville, N.Y.), 16-2: The top-seeded Friars won their fourth straight CHSAA championship by rolling to a 20-5 win over No. 2 Sacred Heart (N.Y.). (Last week's ranking: No. 6)
6. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Alexandria, Va.), 31-2: Katie Wiseman made 13 saves in a victory over Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) in the VISAA title game. (Last week's ranking: No. 7)
7. Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.), 19-2: Kelly Lechner finished with 98 goals for the Falcons, who won their eighth straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title, and extended their conference win streak to 80 games. (Last week's ranking: No. 8)
8. Ridgewood (N.J.), 22-1: Kelci Smesko had four goals in a 14-11 win over Washington Township (N.J.) in the NJSIAA Group 4 title game. (Last week's ranking: No. 9)
9. Northport (N.Y.), 18-2: Shannon Gilroy scored four times in a 14-7 win against Farmingdale in the Long Island region Class A title game. (Last week's ranking: No. 10)
10. Westwood (Mass.), 21-0-1: The Wildcats, who are unbeaten in 58 of their last 59, easily handled Walpole (Mass.) 21-4 in the MIAA quarterfinals and are set to meet Wellesley (Mass.) in this week's Division 1 state semifinals. (Last week's ranking: No. 11)
11. Farmingdale (N.Y.), 16-2: Alexandra Gurecki made 12 saves in a 14-7 loss to Northport (N.Y.) in the Long Island Class A title game. (Last week's ranking: No. 3)
12. Alta (Sandy, Utah), 20-0: The Hawks defended their state championship and extended their win streak to 48 games by beating Bingham 12-6 in the title game. (Last week's ranking: No. 12)

15. Moorestown (N.J.), 21-2: Stephanie Toy scored with just more than 2 minutes left in the fourth overtime in a 14-13 win over Mendham (N.J.) in the Group 3 championship game. (Last week's ranking: No. 17)
16. Milton (Ga.), 19-1-1: Lydia Cassada scored three goals in the first three minutes of a 25-6 state title victory over Roswell (Ga.). (Last week's ranking: No. 14)
17. Wilton (Conn.), 18-1: Tegan Helms and Casey Pearsall each had five goals in the Warriors' 19-7 win over Bethel (Conn.) in the first round of the state tournament. (Last week's ranking: No. 18)
18. Manhasset (N.Y.), 14-4: The Indians' season ended with a 15-10 loss to Garden City (N.Y.) in the Section 8 Class B championship game. (Last week's ranking: No. 16)
19. Londonderry (N.H.), 17-1: The Lancers, who have won 52 straight in-state games, earned a spot in this week's NHIAA championship game against Concord (N.H.) by beating Exeter (N.H.) 15-11 in the semifinals behind Jenny Thompson's five goals. (Last week's ranking: No. 19)
20. Carondelet (Concord, Calif.), 21-2: Cali Castagnola and Kerianne Hunt each had four goals in a 15-9 win over Foothill (Calif.), in the NCS Division I championship game. (Last week's ranking: No. 20)
