York County Tech had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it four. They lost 11-4 to the Biglerville Canners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Canners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 back in March.
York County Tech got a good showing from Cody Wagman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, York County Tech saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natizel Roman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Logan Cheramie also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Biglerville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. The result was nothing new for the Canners, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Biglerville's side, Jared Hollabaugh made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Hollabaugh was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Gavin Althoff and Parker Black did most of the damage at the plate: Althoff got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Black went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Biglerville is 3-1 when Black posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aiden Hoffman, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Coming up, York County Tech will host York Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Biglerville, they will head out to square off against Bermudian Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Canners surely won't give up without a fight.
