They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mineral County and snuck past 37-34. Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was S. Jamice, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was W. CiCi, who scored eight points.
Mineral County's loss came despite strong showings from Jayona Kimmins and Caitlynn Sanchez. Kimmins almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds, while Sanchez scored 12 points along with three steals. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleecia Majano, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage's win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-15. As for Mineral County, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
