The victory was all the more spectacular given Calvert Hall's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while McDonogh is ranked 12th).
It was another big night for Brendan Johnson, who scored 26 points. The match was Johnson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maclaren Latoga, who scored eight points.
Calvert Hall's win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for McDonogh, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-1.
