It was a good run, but the Red Bank Regional Bucs unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 55-33 defeat at the hands of Red Bank Catholic. Red Bank Regional has not had much luck with the Caseys recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Red Bank Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tessa Carman, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Liggio, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Red Bank Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Red Bank Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Bank Regional will take on the Raiders at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ocean City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Bucs are ranked 50th). As for Red Bank Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Soaring Eagles at 6:15 p.m. Union City is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
