The Dos Pueblos Chargers will square off against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dos Pueblos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Dos Pueblos turned things around against Ventura on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since April 9th.
Kaitlyn Ashby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anastasia Brunner and Zella Cassidy did most of the damage at the plate: Brunner went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Cassidy went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Brunner a new career-high. Brooklyn Hedricks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Bonaventure, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Foothill Tech on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Seraphs, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Hallie Barlow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Leea Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
St. Bonaventure always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill Tech only posted an OBP of .385.
St. Bonaventure moved to 13-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Dos Pueblos, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.
St. Bonaventure's pitching crew better be locked in on Wednesday. Dos Pueblos hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. It's a different story for St. Bonaventure, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Dos Pueblos in the park?
Everything went Dos Pueblos' way against St. Bonaventure in their previous meeting back in February, as Dos Pueblos made off with a 13-7 win. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Seraphs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
