The Windsor Academy Knights pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 76-57 to Trinity Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Windsor Academy in their matchups with Trinity Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Windsor Academy still got an impressive performance from Reed Barr, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Landen Locke was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Trinity Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hayden Clay, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Clay's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Harper, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Windsor Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor Academy will square off against Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Academy is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. Trinity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gatewood at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. Gatewood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge.
