Baseball Game Preview: Chiefland Indians vs. Trenton Tigers

The Chiefland Indians will face off against the Trenton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Chiefland barely beat Oak Hall the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-3 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

The team relied heavily on Trey Meeks, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Colton Brown, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Chiefland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Trenton waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brant Bivens was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Marlo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Trenton pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chiefland, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
