The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Nogales falling 61-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points they have scored all season.
Nogales' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Garcia, who scored 16 points. Jayden Salas was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Donovan Desha was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trimel King Jr, who scored ten points.
Nogales' defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Nogales and Rio Hondo Prep will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
