The Carver Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Piedmont Classical Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Carver comes in on three and the Bobcats on six.
In what's become a running theme this season, Carver gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 76-50 margin over Cornerstone Charter. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 13 more assists than your opponent, as Carver did.
Carver found their leader in underclassman Jeremiah Glaspie, who scored 26 points along with five steals and two blocks. Glaspie continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaqarius Houston, who scored eight points along with six assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Piedmont Classical beat the Phoenix 52-45 on Friday.
Piedmont Classical found their leader in underclassman Christian Daye, who scored 17 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Daye scored 15 or more points. Jalen Ferrell was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Carver has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Piedmont Classical, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Carver have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Piedmont Classical struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Carver couldn't quite finish off the Bobcats in their previous matchup back in January and fell 55-52. Will Carver have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
