The Cross Roads Bobcats will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the King's Academy Knights at 1:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Cross Roads' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Mildred by a score of 56-53. The game was a 31-31 toss-up at halftime, but Cross Roads was just barely outscored by Mildred in the second.
Meanwhile, King's Academy ended up a good deal behind Carlisle on Tuesday and lost 66-50.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Everett Hollis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tucker, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals.
The last time Cross Roads won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost four straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 2-6. As for King's Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Cross Roads skirted past King's Academy 58-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Cross Roads have another victory up their sleeve, or will King's Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
