The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Appleton West 90-34 on the road. The victory was some much needed relief for Kaukauna as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Kaukauna's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josie Djupstrom, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Savanna Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
The win got Kaukauna back to even at 4-4. As for Appleton West, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Kaukauna and Kentridge will round out the year against one another at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday at. Kentridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kaukauna in their respective states (Kentridge is ranked 41st in Washington, while Kaukauna is ranked 151st in Wisconsin). Appleton West will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Valders at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
