The Marksville Tigers were the 44-31 winner over the Buckeye Panthers when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Marksville took a 36-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buckeye.
Despite the defeat, Marksville had strong showings from Laylla Dorsey, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Anneshia Reed, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Dorsey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Marksville now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Buckeye, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-22.
Marksville will take on Mamou at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Marksville is coming into the match with four straight defeats at home, so Mamou is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Buckeye, they will head out on the road to square off against Jena at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
