Pickens put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Gilmer as the team secured a 55-6 win. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (49) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, Southeast Whitfield County came up short against LaFayette, falling 21-28. This makes it the second loss in a row for Southeast Whitfield County.
Pickens's victory lifted them to 5-0 while Southeast Whitfield County's defeat dropped them down to 2-3. In their win, Pickens relied heavily on junior CJ Streicher, who picked up 124 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs. Southeast Whitfield County will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
