The Lake Shore Shorians will face off against the L'Anse Creuse Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Shore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Lake Shore's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Roseville. The Shorians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 11 runs or more this season.
Sara Augustitus made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Those six RBI gave Badyna a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Renee Fremont, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lake Shore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, L'Anse Creuse's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Marine City by a score of 6-5.
Alyssa Strohl made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Lake Shore pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for L'Anse Creuse, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
L'Anse Creuse's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lake Shore has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for L'Anse Creuse, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Lake Shore's sizable advantage in that area, the Lancers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lake Shore came up short against L'Anse Creuse in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, falling 4-1. Can the Shorians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
