After nabbing the lead on a field goal, the Fighting Irish went into halftime with a 24-22 lead. The Hornets took the lead for good with a Gant touchdown run in the third quarter.
Kennedy secured its victory by scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter to push the final margin to 29.
Kennedy (6-2) will play a 1A Region 2 game against McAdams next week, while St. Joseph (5-3) will take on Brooks also in a 1A Region 2 game.
