Eastlake and Montwood are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Eastlake Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Montwood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Eastlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Last Friday, Eastlake beat Socorro 51-41. The win was just what Eastlake needed coming off of a 46-20 loss in their prior matchup.
Aaron Vargas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Brandon, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Montwood, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-40 loss to Franklin on Friday.
Eastlake pushed their record up to 16-12 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Montwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.
Eastlake and Montwood were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Eastlake came up empty-handed after a 55-54 defeat.
