The L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They fell 44-32 to Notre Dame Prep.
Notre Dame Prep found their leader in underclassman Kaylyn Sowers, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jazzelle Yaldo, who scored three points along with six rebounds and two steals.
L'Anse Creuse North dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.9 points per game. As for Notre Dame Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L'Anse Creuse North will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Norsemen at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Grosse Pointe North presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Crusaders in Michigan (the Norsemen are ranked 33rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 460th). As for Notre Dame Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Cranes at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Cranbrook Kingswood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
