After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenwood Christian, Spartanburg Day was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past Hampton Park Christian 13-7. Gabe Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Matty Lyle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Lavonte Henderson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
