The Riverside Generals struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (the Mandarin Mustangs were 39% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Riverside was beaten by Mandarin 60-17. Riverside has struggled against Mandarin recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Riverside still got an impressive performance from Kennis Gray, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds. Gray scored a full 41.2% of Riverside's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mandarin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nykeria Thomas, who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of Mandarin's points. Irvieona Gantt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Riverside bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for Mandarin, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Riverside will look to defend their home court on Thursday against First Coast at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully First Coast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 54 on Wednesday. As for Mandarin, they will head out on the road to face off against Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stanton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Mandarin is ranked 54th).
