The Leipsic Vikings will face off against the Kalida Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Leipsic 4.1, Kalida 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Leipsic's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Continental with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Aaron Hazelton was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Leipsic is undefeated when Hazelton posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Tyler Lammers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Avery Paris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Leipsic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Continental only posted an OBP of .067.
Meanwhile, Kalida fell victim to Ottoville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Big Green by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.
Leipsic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Kalida, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.
Leipsic skirted past Kalida 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
