Mt. Baldy recap Nov. 7, 2012
Chino extended the longest winning streak in Mt. Baldy this week by beating Montclair, 34-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Chaffey moved up to 489 from 522 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers were able to make move up by defeating Don Lugo 26-7.
Ontario's dynamic duo of Jacob Estrada and Robert Butanda proved tough for Garey to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Estrada threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns and Butanda had 109 yards receiving. Christian Beltran helped Ontario's passing attack out by catching two balls for 39 yards.
Jesus Rebolledo was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 35 carries, he ran for 200 yards as Chaffey bested the Vikings. Teammate Evingi Tovi added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.
Ontario's Estrada and Beltran have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mt. Baldy in both passing and receiving yards. Estrada has thrown for 1611 yards this season, while Beltran, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 34 catches for 657 yards. Samjie Grant from Colony leads the league in rushing with 1287 yards.
Chris Brown's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,535 from 6,758. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 26-7 victory over the Conquistadores last week.
