There's no place like home for the Lake Ridge Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Mansfield 79-57. Given Lake Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Mansfield is ranked 273rd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Ridge had a senior duo take command as Ahmare Rose scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three blocks and Ehi Akharoh scored 17 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Akharoh scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Alexander, who scored seven points along with six assists.
Lake Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Mansfield, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
Lake Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Mansfield, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cedar Hill at 7:30 p.m. Cedar Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 599 points over their last nine matchups.
