Whites Creek is 0-10 against East Nashville Magnet since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Cobras will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Nashville Magnet will be up against a hot Whites Creek squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Cobras' way against Maplewood on Thursday as they made off with a 15-7 win. The game was the first time the Cobras have beaten the Panthers on their field since March 13, 2023.
Johnathan Scales made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Xavier Jackson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Whites Creek's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ivorie Lee, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Whites Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, East Nashville Magnet entered their tilt with Hillsboro on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Burros with a sharp 10-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Burros since April 18, 2019.
Calvin Bibby and Alexander Griffey were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Bibby tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Griffey struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. At the plate, Bibby went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Griffey went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chauncey Anthony, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Jachaun Taylor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Whites Creek's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for East Nashville Magnet, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Whites Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like East Nashville Magnet struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Whites Creek might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from East Nashville Magnet in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Cobras have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
