The Hunter Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Cyprus Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hunter is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hunter beat Taylorsville 49-43.
Hunter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalysa Ng led the charge by scoring 17 points. Ng is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Gallagher, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Cyprus pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-61 bruising from West Jordan. Cyprus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hunter's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Cyprus, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Hunter might still be hurting after the 57-36 loss they got from Cyprus when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Hunter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
