Eastern Greene's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pike Central Chargers a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Thunderbirds have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Eastern Greene pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Pike Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Eastern Greene will welcome Owen Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Thunderbirds surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pike Central, they will head out to challenge South Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
