Last Saturday, Whitehall-Yearling was able to grind out a solid victory over the Bobcats, taking the game 58-48. The victory was just what Whitehall-Yearling needed coming off of a 62-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Worthington Christian came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 72-36 win over Bexley. Given Worthington Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Lions are ranked 493rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Worthington Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 17 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Woloshan, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Whitehall-Yearling is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-13 record this season. As for Worthington Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
