The Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls will venture away from home to take on the William Tennent Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Raiders and Ragdolls fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Council Rock North on Wednesday, sneaking past 7-6.
Dave Perez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perez was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Victor Corniel was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Kenny Torres was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Saturday. William Tennent put the hurt on MAST Community Charter with a sharp 13-3 win. William Tennent hasn't had any issues with MAST Community Charter recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Like Archbishop Ryan, William Tennent also got a great game from a two-way player: Colin McVey. On the mound, McVey pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Cody Devor tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). At the plate, McVey scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Devor scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Devor a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Lawson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Finnegan, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
William Tennent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MAST Community Charter only posted an OBP of .360.
