Frankfort and Tri-West Hendricks are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hot Dogs will face off against the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frankfort is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
While Frankfort didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Covenant Christian by a score of 7-2 on Friday.

RJ Cornman looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lalo Castillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Taran Emery was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
Frankfort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Tri-West Hendricks entered their tilt with Indian Creek on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Braves.
Zack Baute made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with one double.
In other pitching news, Logan Haboush looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Baute wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Frye, who went 2-for-6 with two runs.
Frankfort's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their record now sits at 10-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Frankfort has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tri-West Hendricks struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Frankfort was able to grind out a solid victory over Tri-West Hendricks in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 9-5. Will the Hot Dogs repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
