The Bishop McNamara Mustangs will square off against the Fairfax Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop McNamara is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Bishop McNamara had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Brush on Wednesday. Bishop McNamara put the hurt on Brush with a sharp 12-1 win. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Koryn Otey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Christina Brown was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaslyne Ivey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Bishop McNamara was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fairfax, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Robinson on Friday, sneaking past 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Avery Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Amy Hartle, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Katelyn Huang was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
The win got Bishop McNamara back to even at 2-2. As for Fairfax, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
