Basketball Recap: Swansboro Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Swansboro extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Addison King. The Swansboro Pirates came out on top against the Havelock Rams by a score of 36-28 on Tuesday thanks in part to King, who posted nine points along with eight boards and four steals. King is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Brady, who had four points and four steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Havelock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlynn Howell, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lanai Brantley, who posted nine points and three steals.

Swansboro pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Havelock, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Swansboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-21 win against Lejeune on the 12th. As for Havelock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 37-28 loss against West Craven on the 11th.
