This season hasn't been kind to the Salem Generals, who are still winless after their 14th matchup. They took a hard 66-50 fall against Cambridge on Wednesday. If Salem hoped to take revenge for the 62-35 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Salem's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Harrington, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiernan Haskell, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Cambridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tully Mahar out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Mason MacDougall, who scored 12 points.
Salem's loss was their 17th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cambridge, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Salem will challenge North Warren Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Warren Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for Cambridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tamarac at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tamarac focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
