Bishop Gorman is a perfect 10-0 against Centennial since November of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Gaels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Gorman has five straight wins, Centennial has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Bishop Gorman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Foothill, who was ranked tenth at the time (Bishop Gorman was ranked first). The Gaels blew past the Falcons 3-0 on Wednesday.
Bishop Gorman not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Foothill between 13 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.

Bishop Gorman can attribute much of their success to Chloe Lopez, who had nine digs and three aces, and Ayanna Watson, who hit 68.8% for 12 kills and 11 digs and three aces. Watson has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more kills the last 26 times she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Bishop Gorman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only served two.
Meanwhile, Centennial came up short against Arbor View on Wednesday and fell 3-1.
Centennial was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Arbor View work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 29-27, 18-25, 25-22.
Loss or not, Centennial got some senior leadership from Dalilah Carvajal and Hazel Jauregui. Carvajal had nine digs and four aces, while Jauregui had 22 digs.
Bishop Gorman's victory bumped their record up to 28-8. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-16.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Bishop Gorman has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Bishop Gorman's way against Centennial in their previous meeting back in August, as Bishop Gorman made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Gaels repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
