Whitley County is a perfect 8-0 against Pineville since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Colonels will host the Mountain Lions at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Whitley County headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Lynn Camp let them put that streak behind them. The Colonels' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Colonels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Caylee Singleton, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Lynn Camp off the board. Singleton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Madi Rains was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Jadynn Johnson was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pineville). They were the clear victors by a 29-5 margin over Thomas Walker on Thursday. Considering the Mountain Lions have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Pineville got a massive performance out of Rayanna Maidon, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Slone, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double.
Pineville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .810. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Pineville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Whitley County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-22.
Whitley County skirted past Pineville 11-9 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Colonels repeat their success, or do the Mountain Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
