The Spring Creek Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Lowry on Thursday as Spring Creek made off with a 62-39 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Spring Creek.
Spring Creek was led to victory by Darren Bylund and Carson Fisher. Bylund scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Fisher scored 18 points along with four steals. The contest was Bylund's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tayden Francis, who scored nine points.
Despite the defeat, Lowry had strong showings from Kasyn Garner, who scored 14 points, and Matthew Casalez, who scored nine points. Garner continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaden Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Spring Creek pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lowry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
Spring Creek will head out on the road to face off against Churchill County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Churchill County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Lowry, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Elko at 2:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Elko is ranked 31st, while Lowry is ranked 41st).
