The Quincy Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Williams Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Quincy has four straight wins, Williams has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Quincy's victory against Maxwell wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 8-7.

04/29/25 @ Portola | 2 |
04/10/25 @ Biggs | 2 |
03/01/25 vs Modoc | 3 |
Lancen Walke was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Quincy got a great performance from Blake Sigle as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Sigle has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jake Thackeray, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Anthony Warndorf, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Williams' offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to Portola, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Quincy pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Quincy took their win against Williams in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
