Valley Central has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will challenge the Wallkill Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Valley Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 58-24 victory over Monticello at home. Given Valley Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Monticello is ranked 233rd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Wallkill took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They blew past Saugerties 61-36.
Valley Central pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Wallkill, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Valley Central was dealt a bruising 53-19 defeat at the hands of Wallkill in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Valley Central was down 36-12.
