The Venus Bulldogs will take on the Life Waxahachie Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Venus suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 62-25 defeat at the hands of Alvarado. While losing is never fun, Venus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1087th, while Alvarado is ranked 441st).
Meanwhile, Life Waxahachie was beaten by Ferris 61-24 on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Life Waxahachie has scored all season.
Venus has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season. As for Life Waxahachie, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.
