After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chittenango, the Homer Trojans were happy to have found some success on Monday. They skirted past Cortland 34-31. For Homer, this counts as revenge for the 39-36 loss Cortland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Several Purple Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antonio Terrazas, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Zach Muir, who scored seven points.
The win got Homer back to even at 1-1. As for Cortland, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Homer will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Skaneateles at 6:30 a.m. on January 4, 2024. Cortland will be home for the holidays to greet Vernon-Verona-Sherrill at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
